Steve,

93 is a unique valve body. It is cast differently to house the extra checkball. Sounds like Bulkpart is just trying to sell you a 88-92 piece. A pic of the worm track (top of the valvebody) can confirm your needs.

I wish you we local. I would fix your stuff for the cost of parts and a case of beer.
I hate to see someone aggravated over (what should be) an easy fix.

Thanks Pete. I am just dealing with it. Been traveling allot lately, and trying to save money for whatever.
We checked pressure at 1000 rpm and it wasnt as high as it was prior to the teardown at idle and WOT. Down about 60 psi at WOT.
I also think the seperator plate is unique. TransGo sells one that fits quite a few years, and I beleive thats whats in it. I took the VB plate down to my builder that came out of the transmission, and several gaskets for valve body I already had. He is going to check the valve body today, as Dana wants him to and verify the plate. Dana told him which ones to use also.

Dana is as sharp as can be. If he is on it, you are in good shape.

Update:
Riddle me this batman.
Okay, with Danas valve body and his separator plate (TRANSGO w/ Dana pre drilled) I have line pressure and rise, but no shifting into 2nd/3rd/4th. But I have reverse, and first.
With another valve body on (this one to check transmission itself), I have all gears but no line pressure increase.
I asked to have it towed home, but builder insisted he try one more thing, then he will send valve body off to DANA, after he checks it again on Monday. He will take valve body apart, again, re-verify all work.

Vette is home. Shifted very firm, no issues so far. We could not get my valve body to work, with the Transgo or OEM stuff. So, we put in another valve body with all the parts I purchased other than drilling the valve body and used an OEM plate. Everything works. I am debating on whether I should send the valve body to Dana at Probuilt and see if he can see what my valve body didnt work, other than first and reverse.
Also, this is the first time this car has ever shifted firmly into overdrive. Before it used to take its time, now it goes right in.
Upshifts and downshifts are fine. No WOT runs as tags are expired and I just wanted to get it home.
My buiilder wants the valve body looked at by Dana at Probuilt. If he finds anything that may be causing this, then we can fix it and move on. My builder was wanting to just do a B&M shift kit (hhmmm, whoduthunk).
Anyways, thats where I am now.

i had never felt a firm WOT 4th gear shift except for the last transmission i put in my t/a. it had billet servos and green kevlar clutches. it was quite an eyeopener. i only got to do it a few times with my 3.23 gears. i did it over the bridges in jacksonville fl in the middle of the night. its amazing how much they pull in 4th.

Okay, I got to laugh. I got taken, probably in more ways than on The valve body in there isnt my original as they said something wouldn't work. SO, they put an Identical one in, so they say. I came home and a today noticed it was leaking, the pan. So, I went and got a new gasket, pulled off the pan, and low and behold, different body, wires hanging etc etc. Shifts fine, but its not the point.
If you can help in telling me where to look on the valve body to figure out what year is in there, let me know. I have some pics.
I am so so unhappy to say the least.

They cannot be identified externally.
The valve body would need to be dropped to tell. Worm track shot is needed.
Letter code of the valve body separator plate needed to e identified as well by the 2 digit letter code. If the plate used was a GM plate.

EA is a 1991-1992 plate. Hopefully, A 88-92 valve body is mounted to it.

I am bored.
Went ahead and put it back together.
Did pressure test.
Park idle 80, WOT 220
R idle 100
1-4 idle 80
1-4 WOT 220.

Drove he Vette today just to get it safety inspected as all my stickers are out. Drove great. The only thing weird is the torque converter locks up at 55 vice 46, as thats my ecm setting.
Never saw more than 175 degrees with AC on in city and up a long hill at 40-60 ish.

The original valve body is back in California with ProBuilt to see if something was not done right when they drilled the valve body etc. Hopefully when that comes back I can put it in and feel much better. We just couldnt get my valve body , with the TransGo, to come out of first, and the only other gear was reverse. Strange.

Okay, Good news. Dana received my valve body and he stated as soon as he opened the box he saw what happened. The person that did my valve body did everything Dana asked him too, except, he did it for old and newer valve bodies. Danas instructions state, "if its this valve body, drill here". Well, the guy read the instructions, just didnt read the details, per sey.
Danas going to rebuild it, plug the hole and says its fixable.
