I got tired of being asked "what is that for" when someone pointed to the "erector set" like contraption that is the A.I.R. pump delete pulley system. I modified mine by downsizing the pulley and moving it to the upper spacer. This required making a new alternator brace, shorten and step the spacer, saw one bracket in half and enlarge the hole to 3/4". Purchases include a 3/8x6" bolt, a shorter belt and a smaller, 2-1/4" pulley(dayco #89095). I had a 1/2"x1-1/2" alum. push bar from a door for the alt. bracket. I am pleased with the result. Here are a tool list and some pics. in case someone's interested in doing it. Joe

Wow! I love seeing a nice final result out of basic tools that everyone has. Without the other pics I would have assumed you used a CNC.

The pulley sticking out in the before pics does look tacky, I have a pulley and have looked at tucking it down in there but haven't followed through with a bracket.

How does the pulley bearing work on that, does the bolt capture the inner race? Looks like that spacer has a collar that goes inside the pulley.

Thanks. Yes and yes, the operation is the same as the tpis unit, just looks better. It's actually more rigid.

I'm surprised you didn't make a bracket to move the alternator up instead, thus doing away with all air pump mess. That is really well made, good work!

The alt. location kind of balances out with the a/c comp. on the other side, no? Also tied to the p.s. pump bracket, and exhaust man. Hood clearance? No, really don't want to mess w/that.

That's a very nice bracket. I think you should write up some nice instructions and post it in the tech library

heh erector set look - i hate that about the readily available AIR delete parts. "hey bill lets stack a bunch of $hit up and call it done and charge $120"

looks very nice. i have one i have never seen before on my car, machined out of one piece of aluminum and nicely curved instead of all rectangle and spacer.
