I watched pinks all out last night for the first time in a long time. There was an LS powered s-10 in the mix. The s-10's opponent go the jump on him, but the s-10 roared back and won... so I thought.

They said the s-10 went too fast? Made up 0.4 and they booted them.

What's that all about? I thought it was "all out"?

As near as I can tell, the cars chosen for the 16 are based upon trial time et's.....and they find a group bunched together within a tenth or two..... thus, in otherwords, they were supposed to run All-Out in trials.....

But, if they go a lot faster in eliminations than they ran in trial passes, they know the racer was sandbagging in trials and is an unfair car for the group et chosen..... hence they get dis-qualified for going too fast.

When that show first began, they had limited knowledge on how air effects et and they dis-qualified a car or two that just picked up in the night air as it should have..... I think they're better now though.

In the end, the show is a bracket race going off an arm-drop instead of the lights and the opinion of some hosts as to what et they should stay under.....

Silly show.... but at least its racing.

Seems to me, it used to be different, and better. Didn't they used to give 2 teams a car and some money and have them build the best car they could and race? The winner kept their car.

They put a lot of WWF into what their doing now, but it's a little too contrived for me.

But I did watch to the end. So it wasn't all bad.

Even though there is a lot of hype and BS on the show I enjoy it and Pastime as two of my favorites. I would much rather watch the amatuers that run what they have than the corporate sponsered pro drag racers. I liked the one a few weeks ago when they disqualified a guy by mistake and gave him $10,000 to make it right. The only Corvette to ever win it is local to me and was modded by MTI Racing that did my son's car.

I think thats a different show you're thinking of... not sure what its called, but I know they did something like the format you're talking about on junkyard wars, which is a show I liked..... but they were building just about anything.

I also know they had a similar program where kids from 2 different high schools would build a car from scratch and then race at the end of the year, I do not remember the name of it.

Once I think about it, the actual original Pinks show was two people racing against each other with whatever car they brought.... best of 5 usually and the winner took both cars home. Pinks All-Out is a kick-off from that.....they changed the format for this season a little bit from last years All-Out, but not by much..... they're trying to get serious this year and create some drama somehow, someway....I've only seen 5 or 6 of the shows total, so cannot say much more than that.

I like Passtime.... would love to be on that show either as one of the cars racing or as a contestant....would happily do either.

I saw that show where the MTI C5 I think it was won.... pretty cool. That kid figured out the timing of the armdrop quite well.
